Children with cancer are some of the toughest survivors

A diagnosis of cancer in a child is scary and confusing for every member of the family especially for us when we were hardly three months in New Zealand.
We came to live in New Zealand in February 2007 from Kuala Lumpur. We had great hopes of better higher educational opportunities for our sons in this beautiful land. While we were trying to adjust to our adopted country we have to face the dreadful news that our teenage son (17 years old) had Osteosarcoma.
As a mom I was so terrified, heart broken and shattered by the news. I decided to hide my fears and my tears and do everything I could for my young Richard to beat it and to enjoy life again.
Everyone says that I am strong, little did they know how I struggle through my emotions everyday to give Richard the strength to accept the harsh treatment process.
Today 15 months later after two major surgeries Richard is back at high school doing what normal teenagers do.
I will share every stage of how I held Richard's hand and help him in his life's toughest journey!.
